Since the coronavirus pandemic shuttered this sitcom in the middle of filming the Season 4 finale, that season-ending episode, "Graduation," now serves as the Season 5 premiere. The story finds Katie (Katy Mixon) desperately trying to appease Principal Ablin (Jerry Lambert) to ensure that Taylor (Meg Donnelly) graduates high school, while Greg (Diedrich Bader) finishes ghost-writing a celebrity's book. Elsewhere, Oliver (Daniel DiMaggio) is shattered to learn his best friend is moving away, while Anna-Kat (now played by Giselle Eisenberg) plans to challenge herself over the summer.
