The coronavirus pandemic shut down production on this supernatural drama last spring before the story lines could reach their original climax, but presumably Season 3 will pick up the action tonight with two Season 2 cliffhangers. In one, a fight with the deadly Necromancer (recurring guest star Ben Geurens) left Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) locked in a slumber from which her friends can't rouse her. Bad timing, though, because her true love Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) has just been mortally wounded. Jenny Boyd and Peyton Alex Smith also return.
