Host Kevin O'Connor returns to open Season 42 on this PBS flagship home improvement series. In the opener, "Designing Kitchens," O'Connor takes viewers on a tour of kitchens, with features ranging from fireplaces used for cooking in colonial times to marble counters of modern days. He also offers an enlightening look at the evolution of appliances. A new round of the companion series, "Ask This Old House," immediately follows in many PBS markets.
